IOWA CITY - A depleted Iowa roster gave 20th ranked Kansas all they could handle Wednesday night before losing 66-55 to the Jayhawks.
Kachine Alexander posted another double double with 23 points and 17 rebounds. Kamille Wahlin chipped in 9, while Freshman Morgan Johnson finished with 8 points 7 rebounds.
KU jumped out to an 11-0 lead, but Iowa rallied to tie it at 13 and actually led 24-21 late in the first half.
A Wahlin jumper at the buzzer made it 27-26 Kansas at the break. The Hawkeyes led 55-54 with 6 minutes left but ran out of gas.
Danielle McCray led KU with 20. Iowa falls to 2-1 on the year they're on the road at Northern Iowa on Sunday.
